Boulder City, how’s the weather?

With temperatures consistently above 110 degrees here in Vegas recently, we thought it’s a good time to visit historical weather trends in the area during the month of October.

The upcoming Boulder City Enduro presented by Dirt Fix is held on October 5th, 2024. According to NOAA, the average monthly high/low for Boulder City in the month of October is 80 / 58 degrees Fahrenheit. Since the Boulder City Enduro is held at the beginning of the month, it’s reasonable to expect a temperature closer to the midpoint of September and October’s average monthly temperatures. That would put us at 87 / 64 degrees Fahrenheit.

Looking at Weather Underground’s daily weather data for Boulder City on October 5th, we observe recordings in line with that expectation. We gathered the last 10 years of temperature recordings:

Moving away from average temperature, it’s arguably even more important to cover wind. The Vegas Valley isn’t traditionally thought of as a windy city, however, the wind here can be annoying. It’s consistent, and with the lack of tree coverage, there are few places to hide from it. Although wind speed in the valley remains fairly consistent throughout the year, October winds tend to be milder than average. The national weather service provides an annual breakdown of average monthly wind speeds here.

The last topic we’d like to discuss relating to weather is day-length. This year, the day-length for October 5th is 11:38:05 with a sunrise at 6:38am and sunset at 6:16pm. Boulder City is very close to the pacific/mountain time zone boarder causing early sunrise and sunset times depending on what you may be used to.

Here at Dirt Fix, we have our fingers crossed for ideal weather conditions, but will be prepared to operate no matter the elements at this year’s Boulder City Enduro. Whether it’s rain, or shine, we look forward to seeing you out there.
